Description

The University of Edinburgh has for a long time taken pro-active action on sustainability leading to the establishment of our department in 2013.

We invite you to join us from 5.30pm on Friday 26 February to celebrate the contribution by the many staff and students to this progress; and to recognise the input David Somervell has made as he steps back from his role as University Sustainability Adviser.

David joined the University in 1989 as Energy Manager. Through several evolving roles in Estates, and – with a huge involvement from many academic and technical colleagues as well as legions of students – has helped Edinburgh reduce its ecological impact and evidence its contribution to society.

The evening is an opportunity for friends to come and share memories of what worked (and what went awry) over the years; and to enjoy a few tunes and maybe a dance or two to Stan Reeves accordion!

Come along to the Counting House to raise a glass and enjoy a hop!

Bring your stories and pictures from down the years; and if you’re musical, remember to pack your instruments for a jamming session.

Doors open from 5.30pm
Sharing memories from 6pm
